You, yes you, need to go see The Artist when it comes out in theaters. It's wonderful. It's a (new!) black and white silent movie about the beginning of the talkies. It's an homage to Singing in the Rain (and other old films) and it's clever and funny and warm. There's dancing and drama and comedy and an adorable dog. Go see it!
Brad and I got to see it as part of the AFI Film Festival and we had such a lovely evening. It was a Gala Screening at the Chinese Theater, which was built in 1927 at the beginning of the talking movie era. By luck, we got amazing seats in the middle of the theater. The cast and crew were there. I literally ran into John Goodman. (Not joking, we were next to the concessions and I wasn't watching where I was walking. I sort of bounced off of him.) Nights like that one make me think that it's maybe not so bad to live in Los Angeles.

Did he say anything to you? John Goodman? I really like him as an actor.
glad you had a good time.
It sounds like it's right up my alley. I'll keep an eye out!
