Not Feeling the Christmas

I've been trying, but I'm just not feeling the Christmas so far this year. We've bought almost all our Christmas presents. I've been listening to Christmas music on the radio. (Side note: Around here they only play secular Christmas music, which means they play the same seven songs, over and over again. I'm dying to hear Silent Night or O Little Town of Bethlehem.) There are lights up around town. But, no.

It's not that I'm feeling particularly grinchy or anything. I'm just not feeling especially Christmas-y. It's always hard in southern California because of the palm trees and the lack of even the chance of snow. Truthfully, it's probably because I'm so focused on my candidacy exam that I haven't taken the time to sit back and let the season sink in.

Maybe when I'm done (in a week!) it will feel like Christmas.

You could always listen to WBGL online. They play all kinds of Christmas music. Don't know if that will help, but you will actually hear the words "savior", "holy" and "Christmas".

I thought it was just me this year. I too am having a hard time this year. Maybe it's because we didn't put up much in the way of decorations. We did the tree and a few things in the house....I am sure once I start baking I will feel more "Christmasy" and wrapping more presents.
