More of Same

I'm competing for the world's most boring blogger award.

This week has been largely routine. We had a visiting grad student out from Case Western. He came to install a new waveplate on our cryostat. We got the cryostat closed up and ready for another science run earlier this week, so we should be doing science by the middle of next week.

The house is quiet. We're planning a trip to the Getty Museum in February. I adore the Getty, so I'm glad to get to share it with the students. I'd also like to get to the Norton-Simon and the LACMA before the year is out.

We saw a few movies (The Ides of March and My Week with Marilyn). We actually got to see a Q&A session with Michelle Williams and Kenneth Branagh after My Week with Marilyn, so that was cool. They were both quite charming in person. Brad and I liked both movies and would recommend that others go see them, too.

Brad had an interview for a full-time position at Apple. We haven't found out yet whether he got the job. We both have next Monday off, which will be the only the second time we've both had a day off on the same day since before Thanksgiving. (The other was the day of the Rose Parade.) We're thinking of driving out to say hello to the ocean.

We're going out with some friends this evening, but other than that my weekend promises to be an exciting one. I've got laundry, cleaning, and reading to do. (Yeehaw!)
